There are infinite drinks to get drunk. To experience a graze with the ancestral, there is Mezcal. If you respect Mother Earth and know the value of tradition. If you seek contact with the sacred. Welcome, you have started a Buen Viaje.

are
we?
We are committed to Mother Earth and the spiritual manifestations emanating from Mexico’s ancestral culture. We are a group that supports communities and Master Mezcal craftsmen; our mission is to keep this divine beverage and its degustation current.
How
did
it
all
start?
Maguey was a food before corn, and within it, it stores the complexity of one of the oldest beverages in the world, especially since it has been on Mother Earth for over 10 million years.

Buen Viaje is enjoyed on its own, without mixing. It is savored slowly, letting the palate guess the flavors that Mother Earth has created under the ground for years, and now, we are allowed to appreciate it.
Limited production in community Palenques Mezcales Buen Viaje are made faithfully following the artisanal tradition that has been inherited generation after generation in the palenques of Master mezcal craftsmen native of the valleys of Miahuatlán, Oaxaca.

Select mature magueys, ranging from
7 to 30 years.

Each pad is cut until the core
is clean.

3.

Cooking is done in an earth oven for
at least 3 days.

4.

The crushing is done by hand, with
a mallet or grinder to get the bagasse.

5.

Fermentation occurs in wooden tubs with
spring water.

6.

The extract is distilled in a copper
or clay distiller.

7.

Testing the pearling of mezcal proves
its minimum quality of 45 proof.

made?

The hummingbird aids the pollination of magueys with its flight, leaving with each one a part of its warrior spirit. Behind each mezcal, there is also a Master mezcal craftsman that gives it a unique and unrepeatable character. We give you the choice to delve into three different essences.

Tobala is a wild agave, of powerful flavors and a more herbal tone; grows in prairies and low forests. It takes 12 years to grow. The essence of Mezcal Buen Viaje is filled with energy, like the moonlight that falls every night over our agave fields.

15 years have to pass for our Bicuixe Agave to give us its more intense flavors. Its harvest occurs in the most arid zones of the state of Oaxaca. The essence of Mezcal Buen Viaje is the one that lives within the desert, where a man’s best friend is the Maguey.

Madrecuixe is an agave with more floral flavors and scents; it grows in the valleys and mountain skirts. Its growth of more than 13 years describes the essence of Mezcal Buen Viaje, which with the help of Godess Mayahuel represents the strength within each one of our magueyes.

The agaves of Espadín take between 6 to 8 years to reach their growth peak so we can extract from them all their best attributes. The essence of Mezcal Buen Viaje posses an aroma of great character and a cristal clear color made with spring water at the hands of our artisans.

Limited edition book, made with agave paper from workshop of artist Francisco Toledo, talks about the traditional mezcal and good life journey.

Duality special edition includes two bottles of mezcal intervened in Huichol art, an art book collection and two bowls.

The bottles contain good craft and traditional mezcal buen viaje of agave tepeztate (this agave takes about 30 years to mature on Mother Earth).
